American poet, librettist, literary critic, finalist for the Pulizer Prize in poetry and former president of The American Academy of Arts and Letters, Stonington, CT. The estate features a collection of (50+) literary and musical autograph manuscripts & letters, as well as Japanese prints descended through his friend and mentor the American poet James Merrill (1926-1995).
The estate of John F. Ball (1930-2018)
Television and film executive, Greenwich, CT. The estate (200+ lots) includes fine collections of European paintings, Chinese jade carvings, and a large selection of 18th Century French porcelain (50+ lots), with many pieces made at the factories at Sèvres & Vincennes. Many items have descended through the Collection of Elizabeth Parke Firestone (Christie’s, New York, March 22 & 23, 1991).
