Herts Brothers inlaid rosewood cabinet, ca. 1878. Signed 'Herts Brothers,' having double beveled glazed doors with brass overlay flanked by single similar glazed doors on each side. False frieze drawer flanked by secret working drawers. Shelf with mirrored back flanked by cabinet doors on either side. Extensive inlay on all exterior surfaces. 59-1/2"h x 59-1/2"w x 15-3/4"d
Provenance: Purchased by Charles Schwartz during the great depression and housed in the "Pumpkin House" in the upper west side of Manhattan; thence by decent to present owner Charles E. Schwartz, M.D.
